- Access to the MetaBiom Portal is granted to all registered users, allowing them to enter, read, and edit evidence and records based on their predefined roles.
- MetaBiom is currently available free of charge to all registered users during a trial period.
- Upon registration, users start with read-only access, which can be later extended to include author and reviewer privileges.
- Users can request to delete their MetaBiom account and profile at any time.
- To register, enter your email as your login and create/re-enter a new password. A verification email will then be sent to you. Follow the instructions in the email to confirm your new account.
a) According to your expertise, your profile should be filled out accordingly, and you should state your intention for working with MetaBiom.
b) After an initial profile check, appropriate additional access will be granted.

The following regulations govern the creation and management of user passwords to ensure maximum security:

* Password Requirements

To ensure your account security, your password must meet the following criteria:

  • 1) Minimum Length: Must be at least 10 characters long.
  • 2) Complexity: Must contain characters from at least three of the following four categories:
    • - One Uppercase letter (A-Z)
    • - One Lowercase letter (a-z)
    • - One Number (0-9)
    • - One Symbol (e.g., !@#$%^&*-)
  • 3) Uniqueness: Must **not** be the same password you use for any other accounts (personal or work).
  • 4) Guessability: Must **not** contain easily guessed information (like your name or birthday) or common sequences (like '123456' or 'qwerty').

Tip: We recommend using a long, memorable passphrase for better security (e.g., "MyDogAteMyHomework@24!").

Your registration indicates your acceptance of the following Terms and Conditions:

  • - You agree that your personal data (e.g., title, name, address, email address, phone number, etc.) required for registration will be stored in MetaBiom. Your personal data is used solely to identify you as a potential author for other authors and to facilitate contact between them. Your personal data is processed by us only in accordance with German data privacy laws. Without your explicit consent or a legal basis, your personal data will not be shared with third parties outside the scope of fulfilling the registration.
  • - Your login information is stored only for maintenance purposes and will be deleted at appropriate intervals based on the MetaBiom workload.
  • - You are not permitted to publish confidential personal data from others that could, solely or in combination, lead to the explicit identification of an individual (e.g., name, birth date, address, email). The exception is if such information is anonymized or its usage has been voluntarily and properly confirmed by the affected person, in which case it can be deleted upon a direct request from the affected individual.
  • - As a potential author, you are permitted to enter, change, publish, and delete your own records and are solely responsible for the content, including related documents, links, references, and comments, in accordance with Section 55 (2) of the German Interstate Broadcasting Treaty (RStV).
  • - You can delete your own profile and request to delete your account and all related information at any time without notice or explanation. According to the Data Protection Act, you have a right to free-of-charge information about your stored data, and potentially the entitlement to correction, blocking, or deletion of such data. Inquiries can be directed to the email address "info@metabiom.org".
  • - You are discouraged from advertising commercial content and products.
  • - It is your duty to safeguard your account login identifier and password from any unauthorized use to access restricted areas of MetaBiom.
  • - You agree that your ID and password may be disabled by MetaBiom at its sole discretion without any notice or explanation.
  • - You agree that MetaBiom may unpublish or delete your records in the case of errors, misuse, conflicts, or any inappropriate content.
  • - You should use open-access references in MetaBiom whenever possible. For some documents, data, and links available from MetaBiom that may be subject to third-party copyright, you should consult these entities for any additional terms of use before publishing. You are responsible for examining the licensing restrictions of published data and linked pages and securing all necessary permissions. If links on MetaBiom route you to other pages, please inquire there about how your data is handled.
  • - For all documents, data, and links available from MetaBiom that may be subject to other authors' rights, you should explicitly cite the corresponding origin in your content.
